西方报刊经常想都不想，就批评中国对煤炭上瘾了，因为相对于中国的GDP来说，中国的煤炭消费量是世界上最大的。

今天，英国金融时报的长文讲，中国的煤炭如何污染大气，对世界的环境和气候有不好的影响。我忍不住写了一个评论，放在我的领英LinkedIn 博客，和英国金融时报这篇文章的评论栏。

我说，从来没有人说某国对大山、河流、森林、大海，或者沙漠上瘾了。凭什么说中国人对煤炭上瘾了呢？沙漠、山川、森林、大海，这些都是自然禀赋。中国的煤炭也是自然禀赋，我们只有煤，没有太多的石油和天然气，那我们怎么办？况且，中国生产的东西，很多是出口到西方国家去的，所以中国的煤炭消费是代表西方消费的。你们不要批评中国对煤炭上瘾了，你们应该批判西方人对中国的产品上瘾了。

FT is wrong about our coal addiction.

You never say that some people are addicted to mountains, trees, deserts or oceans.

But why do people keep saying China is addicted to coal, as this FT piece does? Link below.

China only has coal. It has very little oil and natural gas. That’s just its natural endowment.

China makes widgets for the West. We export millions of tons of clothes, shoes and socks to the West. And the making of these things consumes electricity and therefore coal.

Instead of criticising China for coal addiction, we should criticise the West for addiction for stuff.
