用政治和意识形态掩盖无能和草包本色。
今天FT文章说,全世界都是这样:政治和意识形态是掩盖无能的好东西。他讲的是英国首相约瀚逊。
Boris Johnson cannot hide incompetence with culture wars
A Tory-led war on woke will not distract from the core issues voters care about.

A culture war is something only the other side fights. The side you are on is merely talking sense. The impulse may explain why, amid the discomfort of voters at the scale of the Black Lives Matter movement’s agenda, some around Boris Johnson see an opportunity for advantage.
Between the extremes there is a gapingly large middle ground to be occupied. But political strategists too often want the war rather than the win. Instead of working to change minds and build consensus, political tacticians seek dividing lines around identity politics by goading opponents into positions that alienate voters. They are less about the issue than about mobilisation.
Recent elections have shown the power of identity politics and, with the UK prime minister’s poll ratings slipping over his handling of the pandemic, there are those around him who see value in a “war on woke” to keep the battle on the boil. To his credit, Mr Johnson is not convinced. He is enough of an opportunist to see its value at times, but his instincts are against polarisation. He never shared the anti-establishment radicalism of his Vote Leave allies. Part of the appeal of his “get Brexit done” election slogan was the hope of an end to division. As one ally put it: “The biggest argument against a culture war is Boris isn’t up for it”.
